- Low carbon, eco-friendly plant maximizing the use of solar power and geothermal heat

- Receiving a KRW 250 billion of corporate tax deduction and additional benefits for 7 years

Daewoong Pharmaceutical(CEO : Lee, Jong Wook) is planning to construct a new plant equipped with high-tech production facilities in Chungju company city. On December 2nd, agreement on investment ceremony was held with Lee, Jong Wook, Daewoong CEO, Jung, Woo Taek, governor of Chungbuk, and Kim, Ho Bok, mayor of Chungju, at the site in Chungju company city.

The plant is going to occupy 167,183㎡ of land and to have 50,000㎡ of total floor area. Five buildings for solids, injections, cephalosporins, anti-cancer drugs, and an automated warehouse will be constructed.  Most importantly, this plant will be built as a low carbon, eco-friendly facility which meets the CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standard for production facilities and will be the global manufacturing base for the international business operations.

Daewoong will invest KRW 250 billion for 4 years from 2010 for next 4 years and complete in 2013. Thanks to this investment, Daewoong receives benefits of KRW 250 billion including corporation tax deduction for 7 years, etc. Considering that Daewoong owned KRW 740 billion of capital assets in the 2nd half of this year and its annual operating profit is estimated to be over KRW 60 billion in the future, it has enough capacity to invest for the new plant.

In addition, Daewoong is producing and providing high quality products rapidly by improving the production standardization and automation level through various information systems which are as good as those of IT enterprises.
