Daewoong Medical Research Center launched in India 2009-01-22 |

Daewoong Pharmaceutical (CEO: Jong Wook Lee) with the goal of developing into a top global healthcare company has become the first Korean pharmaceutical company to operate its own medical research center in India. Over 40 members including government officials, investors, and pharmaceutical company heads of India were on hand to offer their congratulations on the opening. The research center covers two floors with 900㎡ of space. Inside one will find state-of-art research equipment and experimental laboratories. Various experiments can be conducted starting from initial safety tests all the way to final clinical trials prior to hitting the market. There are currently 15 researchers onsite from Korea and also India. There are plans to increase the personnel by 10 to 20 each year. Through the establishment of research centers in China and India, Daewoong has taken prominent strides in creating global research centers which operate around the clock. This global research network will enable smoother licensing, raw material sourcing, and bring up quality employees.
