Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (President Lee Jong Wook) has released ‘Bearprofen’ (Ingredient: dexibuprofen), an antipyretic syrup for infantsand children. It has excellent effectiveness in reducing body temperature in cases offever due to cold and acute croup. 

This brand new product uses dexibuprofen, which is effective for flu, while avoiding the R type of Ibuprofen that is not related to remedial effects. For this reason, it shows rapid effects when only a small amount is taken. In particular, as R type has the side effects of hepatotoxicity and gastrointestinal disturbance, dexibuprofen is safer than ibuprofen.
It minimizes the unique taste of dexibuprofen and features a strawberry taste to heighten compliance. It is up to 53% cheaper than comparable original drugs, and is the cheapest product among competing generics."

The market for infant and children’s antipyretics has a size of about 10 billion won, with an average increase of 3% annually. Bearprofen is expectedto achieve 1.5 billion in sales.
