Daewoong Co., Ltd wins commendation for honest payment of taxes from the Ministry of Finance and Economy

Daewoong was recognized as a company with initiative in honest payment of taxes, on 41st Taxpayer’s day.

Daewoong’s continuous practice of moral, open and aboveboard management has borne fruit and plans to make these key values of the company in the future. Daewoong Co., Ltd (CEO Jeong Nan Young) and Daewoong Chemical (CEO Lee Sung Jae) won commendations for the honest payment of tax from the Ministry of Finance and Economy on 5th April, to commemorate the 41st Taxpayer’s day.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy chose Daewoong, recognizing contributions to national funds by honest taxpaying and establishing a sound environment for taxpaying purposes. Park Jae Hong, a board director, said that Daewoong is on a path of morality and is a leading light in the development of national health through moral and open-and-aboveboard management. He also added that Daewoong will be continue to return parts of its profits to society through various social responsibility projects for the less fortunate, such as the founding and full funding of children’s playgrounds without cost, and many other social contributions.

Daewoong Co., Ltd has been a leading honest taxpaying company in the past. It was awarded the ‘Golden Order of Industrial Service Merit’ being the first among all pharmaceutical companies to receive this award in 1982. It also was awarded the prize for industrial justice by the Citizens´ Coalition for Economic Justice 《CCEJ》 twice from 1994 to 2002, and is now a leading company constituting open-and-aboveboard atmosphere through not exchanging New Year’s gifts since 2002, a first among all Korean Pharmaceutical companies.
